Spanish Ghanaian Nico Williams delivered a stellar performance as Spain cruised past Georgia, 4-1, in Cologne, setting up a thrilling Euro 2024 quarterfinal.

Williams, one of the tournament's standout players, sealed Spain's third goal with a sublime finish in the 75th minute, effectively ending the contest.

He now has one goal and one assist from the three games he featured in.

The 2008 and 2012 champions now face host nation Germany in a blockbuster clash in Stuttgart on Friday, with both teams in top form, making it the most anticipated game of the competition so far.

Luis de la Fuente's Spain has been exceptional, and an early own goal from Robin Le Normand that put Georgia ahead never seriously threatened their impressive campaign.

Le Normand's misfortune was canceled out in the 39th minute when Williams set up Rodri for the equalizer.

Fabian Ruiz put Spain ahead in the 51st minute, assisted by 16-year-old Lamine Yamal. Williams then deservedly scored, bamboozling Georgia's defense.

Dani Olmo completed the 4-1 rout, firmly establishing Spain as formidable contenders.

Former Dreams FC captain Abdul Jalilu has explained his decision to leave the Ghana Premier League after several years.

The centre-back has completed a move to Rwandan topflight side Mukura Victory Sport, signing two-year deal with the club in the ongoing transfer window.

The 24-year-old is expected to play a huge role for the Rwandan outfit in the 2024/25 season.

"I was not tired of playing in the Ghana Premier League, but after years of doing so, I felt it was time to move out"

"Just like everyone prays for the best in life, I needed to change because it was beneficial to me. I am playing football to transform the family, especially given the number of people that rely on you. So, when you get an offer and compare it to what you used to take, you just think about it and move"

"Honestly, I'm not playing football to win the Ballon D'or or the World Best, no! I'm more interested in changing homes because my current one isn't very good"

"The Ghana Premier League is fantastic, but after four years, I felt it was time to alter the environment" he told Akoma FM.

Jalilu becomes the third Ghanaian player to move to the Eastern African nation in the last week, joining Richmond Lamptey and Dauda Saaka of Asante Kotoko and Bofoakwa Tano respectively.

The ex-Dreams FC captain gained attention for his role in the club's fairytale run in the CAF Confederation Cup, making 11 appearances as the Still Believe lads reached the semi-final of the competition.

He was also pivotal as the Dawu-based club won their first-ever major silverware in the 2022/23 campaign, starring in the final as Dreams FC defeated King Faisal to win the FA Cup.

He is expected to add his rich experience to Mukura Victory Sports as they eye success in the upcoming campaign.
